Life is Good On Our Boat!
The Margaritaville Summer Internship Program is a paid, 10–12-week experience where students will be fully integrated into the day-to-day activities of a team working in one of the most dynamic and energic restaurant locations in the country. They'll be working in some of the most beautiful beach areas and fun cities in the country while learning the inner workings of one of the most popular brands.
We offer two programs:
Margaritaville Summer Internship Program
o Front of the House positions: Restaurant Host, or Retail Associate.
o Server opportunities are available for students with over 2 years’ experience.
o Backstage areas: Prep Cook
o Supervisory Internships for those students who have held higher level responsibilities in their current position.
Margaritaville Culinary Assistant (For culinary students only)
Student will embark on a new journey with our Culinary Program as they create lasting impressions and unforgettable experiences for guests from around the world. They'll master their craft as they work side-by side with culinary leaders and fellow “heart of the house” teams.
Experience:
As a Margaritaville Internship Program participant, students will gain on-the-job experience working in our Margaritaville and Landshark Bar & Grill locations, will participate in unique learning experiences, and can meet people from all over the world. We are committed to giving our interns the space to explore, to have full-time employee responsibilities, and to become future leaders.
At the end of the summer, students will be given the opportunity to:
o return for another internship next summer in any of our locations around the country
o return for a professional internship in our corporate office or others around the country
o interview to join the Leadership Training program and start their career with us
Either way, they could have a job already lined up for next summer.
2024 Dates:
Program Starts: May (some locations could start in Spring)
Program Ends: August
Pay and Hours:
Students are paid an hourly wage based on their position less all applicable taxes and withholdings, payable bi-weekly. If overtime is required, we will try to give them as much advanced notice as possible. Training is also paid.
What Students will do:
As a Margaritaville Internship Program participant, they will gain on-the-job experience working in our Margaritaville and Landshark Bar & Grill locations, will participate in unique learning experiences, and can meet and work with people from all over the world.
Work is augmented by weekly meetings with leaders and supervisors who share the inside view of their work at Margaritaville and their experiences as leaders. The open discussion format allows participants to learn directly from leaders, ask challenging questions, and address critical issues. Participants will have the opportunity to work side by side a supervisor or manager to learn the responsibilities, duties, and real-world work experience.
We will host weekly Leadership sessions with Executives in Operations, Human Resources, Marketing, Culinary and students will have a chance to understand the philanthropy and charity elements of Margaritaville and Jimmy Buffett. The discussions are structured to provide both a functional overview of the organization and insight into a variety of leadership approaches.
Who is eligible:
• Minimum Requirements:
• At least 18 years old
• Currently enrolled in a college or university pursuing a certificate or degree (all majors welcome)
• Have completed at least one semester of college
• Able to start internship working at least 35 hours/week (Mid May through Mid – Late August. We will work around your back-to-school schedule.
• Legally authorized to work in the US on a fulltime, permanent, and ongoing basis without requiring sponsorship now or in the future
• Willing to relocate or currently live near to any of our locations that has a summer internship opportunity, including:
• Myrtle Beach, SC
• Destin, FL
• Panama City Beach, FL
• Daytona Beach, FL
• Miami, FL
• Key West, FL
• Mall of America – Bloomington, MN
• Students must have housing confirmed and a valid driver’s license before May 2024.
